Tigran Konstantinovich Mkrtychev
Аrcheologist, art historian. Graduate of Tashkent State University, Department of Archeology.
He has been working at the Museum since 1985. Currently he is the Deputy Director for Scientific Work (Research). Doctor of Historical Sciences, a specialist in Buddhist art of Central Asia. A member and the head of a series of archeological expeditions, including expeditions to
Uzbekistan. Recently he has been working on a project that deals with modern fine art of Central Asia. Together with E.S. Ermakova he has coined the term “Turkestan Avant-garde”. He has curated a series of successful exhibitions (“Turkestan Avant-garde”, “Kalandar”, “Nikolai and Svyatoslav Rerikh. Uniting people” etc.).
Honoured Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation.
